It's probably pretty obvious, based on the clothing that I tend to choose for Ninja Vintage, that I love fun and colorful prints. So when I found this 1980s fashion print book at a local bookstore, I had to get it. The fact that it was only $6 was just a bonus. The book features pages and pages of print images, categorized by the major style trends that dominated the decade. There are 1950s and 1960s editions as well (sadly, no 1970s). I'm sure those editions are even better, but as a child of the '80s, I'm pretty partial to this one. Below are just a few of my favorite prints from the book.

Madewell just posted this video featuring their "style muse" for their fall campaign, Solange Knowles. I was so happy when I saw the announcement on their Facebook page because I'm a big admirer of Solange's bold, colorful style and (as evidenced by my Pinterest) Madewell is one of my absolute favorite shops. It really is the perfect pairing. Check out the video for a sneak peek at Madewell's fall collection. I'm loving the polka dots, laid-back blues, and bright poppy reds.

celeste and jesse forever

Happy Friday! Tonight I'm going to a screening of Celeste and Jesse Forever followed by a Q&A with the writers, Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. I'm very excited. I have such a girl crush (overused term, but appropriate!) on Rashida Jones. She's deadpan funny, smart, and she has great style, too.

And in Ninja Vintage news: 10 new items were just added to the Etsy shop this week - lots of brightly colored dresses and separates. I have lots more to add next week as well. In the meantime, have a fun fun weekend!

This print by Annie Galvin of 3 Fish Studios just arrived in the mail. It's my early birthday present to myself, and a little way to express my home state pride. I pinned this onto my "Art" board on Pinterest a while back and now I'm so happy to call it mine.
